"Si no fos per quatre fills de puta, egoistes, hipòcrites i mentiders, el món seria un autèntic paradís". Aquesta és la màxima amb la qual el grup Antagònics, format l'any 2007, es presenta en societat amb un disc de debut que és tota una declaració d’intencions del seu discurs musical, rock alternatiu com a base, nu-metal, alguna cosa de funk-rock i una mica de pop-rock, i verbal, amb uns textos directes, simples i sense pèls a la llengua plens de crítica i reivindicació social.
Bevent del rock alternatiu dels 90 per un costat, i de les bandes de rock radical basc per l’altre, aquest quintet de Barcelona ha conjuntat dins del seu primer treball Work in Progress... des de la intensitat del tall funk d’uns Red Hot Chili Peppers a What’s Going On? fins a la contundència de les guitarres grunge a Freedom, passant per ritmes hereus del rock anglosaxó més clàssic, com a Home de Palla o a T’estimo Tant, aquesta última amb un sincer homenatge a Pau Riba i a Sisa, fars intel.lectuals, encara que no estilístics per a la banda. Havent format part de festivals com el de Trobadors i Joglars o el Fusiònica i el cicle de concerts de Solistes a l'Alta Ribagorça, els seus directes combinen la música amb performances preparades especialment per a cada ocasió, alternant els seus temes més contundents (noms com Rage Against The Machine o Extremoduro vénen al cap) amb una versió més intimista en format acústic. Ara presenten el seu nou videoclip Només Tu gravat al Delta de l'Ebre sota la direcció i realització de David Raya, amb Jason Acero com a director de fotografia, Germán Begué a l'edició i la col.laboració especial de l'actriu Montse Susin. |
"If it was not for a few sons of a bitch, egotists, hypocrites and liars, the world would be an authentic paradise". This is the motto of the group Antagònics, created in 2007 and presenting themselves with a debut album which is an authentic declaration of intentions of their musical discourse, expanding alternative rock with nu-metal, a touch of funk-rock and a bit of pop-rock. Verbal, with direct lyrics, simple and without mincing words, full of criticism and social vindication.
Their influences include alternative rock from the 90s as well as Basque radical rock bands. This quintet from Barcelona has brought together in Work in Progress... the intensity of Red Hot Chilli Peppers' funk in What's Going On? the power of grunge guitars in Freedom, or rhythms inherited from the most classical Anglo-Saxon rock, in Home de Palla and T'estimo Tant, this latter track being a sincere tribute to Pau Riba and Sisa, who gave intellectual although not stylistic inspiration to the band. Having taken part in festivals such as Trobadors i Joglars or Fusiònica and the international concerts of Solistes a l'Alta Ribagorça, their live concerts combine music and performances specially prepared for each occasion, alternating their strongest compositions (names such as Rage Against The Machine or Extremoduro come to my mind) with others of a more intimistic and acoustic nature. Now present their new video clip Només Tu recorded in Delta de l'Ebre under the direction and conduct of David Raya, with Jason Acero as director of photography, edited by German Begué and with the special collaboration of the actress Montse Susin. |
